Absurdist Kantian 300th Birthday Party, Central APA

  • 22 Feb 2024
  • New Orleans

“Kant is a madman, like all great philosophers, whether they themselves know it or not.” – Thomas Bernhard

For those of you coming to the Central APA, NAKS will be throwing a 300th Kantian birthday party on Thursday February 22, 7pm, at the APA.  We’re not sure what a Kantian birthday party should look like, but your hosts have been closely studying what Kant has to say about dinner parties.  So there will probably be food and wit involved.

The main activity will be reading snippets from Thomas Bernhard’s play Immanuel Kantwhich will be staged in full at the Tercentennial Gala event in March (see here).

Party hosts: Lucy Allais; Andrew Chignell; Katharina Kraus; Huaping Lu-Adler
