The NAKS Plurality and Community Committee is excited to announce the return of our Kant and race reading group. Last summer, the group primarily focused on Kant’s essays on race. However, this time we want to try something a little different, and invite scholars to present their research on Kant, race, and racism. The goal of the reading group is to provide an open and intellectually enriching space for scholars and students interested in thinking about Kant, race, and racism.

Talks will run for approximately 75 minutes. 30 to 45 minutes are for the speaker followed by a 30-minute Q&A. If you are interested in attending any of the sessions, which are all on Zoom, please fill out the Google form here (https://forms.gle/5fUcMm5h98F7moka7). The Google form is also accessible via QR code on the flyer. After you fill out the form, your email address will be added to the mailing list for the group! Zoom links along with schedule details will be provided through the mailing list.

The first talk of the summer will be by Dr. Jordan Pascoe on June 10, 12-1:15 PM EST. The title of her talk is "Race and Racism in Kant's Political Philosophy: On Race, Retrieval, and Resistance". Please join us on Zoom for Dr. Pascoe’s talk!

Other scholars featured on the schedule are:

Dr. Holly Wilson, June 27, 12-1:15 PM EST

Dr. Reza Mosayebi, July 5, 11-12:15 PM EST
